The first stretch is direction and content: what each page says and who it's for. The middle is design and build. The last is review, revisions, and the technical work of launching, which includes testing on phones, connecting forms, and making sure search engines can read the site properly.

How to make it go faster

Gather your content before the project starts. Know who's giving feedback and keep it to one or two people. Decide in advance whether you're writing the copy or having it written, since waiting on words is the most common stall. If you have photography, get it done early rather than holding the launch for it.
